GEOSUITE 2 will develop a unique commercial software for the solution of geotechnical design problems, with fully integrated databases for the management of geological and geotechnical data. Such product is not available today. GEOSUITE 2 has a high comme rcial potential, both in Scandinavia and abroad. Interoperability and flexibility will be trademarks of the software. With simple yet improved data model, comparison and derivation of soil parameters, new geo-framework for exchange, storing and retrievin g of old and newer data, user-interfaces, and full integration of the geo-data with the analysis and design tools, GEOSUITE 2 will be a necessary tool for the practising geotechnical engineer. The geotechnical profession and GEOSUITE 2 need to implement t his technology in order to enable the profession to do reliable analyses and meaningful risk assessment and management of the infrastructure and the built environment.
