History matching is a discipline which requires and involves expertise in different fields: geology, geophysics, rock mechanics, mathematics, computing and reservoir engineering. Early attempts at history matching were primarily based on matching producti on data, ie. well production and pressures. Since the breakthrough of 4D seismic data approximately 10 years ago, various approaches for combined use of reservoir fluid flow simulation and repeated seismic data have been discussed (ref. HUTS project).
I n this project we will integrate production data and 4D data in history matching. Two M.Sc. students at NTNU (Harb, Dadahspour) have recently completed projects and theses investigating the possibility of combining production data and 4D data in history m atching, and their work will form part of the basis for this project.
