In this project, we plan to study empirically to what extent economists have been able to influence policy-making in the energy area and the outcome of their advice. The aim is to analyse the interaction between economists and policy-makers. First, we wan t to do a case study of the decision to liberalise the supply of electricity in Norway. Second, we will do a case study of ongoing political efforts to increase the production of electrical energy in the mid-Norway region. Third, we will do a case study o f policy-making with respect to new renewable energy sources in the period 2000-2007. Fourth, we will do a case study of Norwegian household consumers of electricity.
