Project summary
As scientists gain knowledge from mapping the Human Genome, they will also find new ways to treat and even prevent disease. To build the library of information necessary to advance the field of genomic medicine, it is imperative that we de velop DNA sequencing technology that is faster and affordable. We are planning to address this issue by developing a next generation sequencing platform that can sequence a human genome for less than $1.000 within 24 hours. The project is a continuation o f activities already been undertaken at LingVitae (Oslo), the Pasteur Institute (Paris) and the Data Storage Institute (Singapore) and has earlier received funding from one program at the Norwegian Research Council and one program at the French Norwegian Foundation . The Data Storage Institute in Singapore is ranked as one of the worlds top 5 environments for development of data storage technology .
