Modelling and identification of first principles dynamic process models for predictive control and real-time optimization

Tildelt: kr 10,6 mill.

The scope of the project is to develop methodology, algorithms and software tools facilitating the efficient development and validation of first principles (mechanistic, fundamental) dynamic process models, which are suitable to be used in various online industrial process applications such as for online estimation of non-measurable states and parameters, model predictive control, steady-state or dynamic real-time optimization, as well as in engineering tools for design of operational strategies, batch re cipes and for safety related studies. Such models are named online models. In order to ensure that this technology is well adapted to the various type of applications where the models will be utilized, this technology will be developed and tested in conne ction with several industrial applications. These various industrial application areas represent R&D challenges themselves in various ways due to the complexity of the model development or due to new innovative applications of the process models.
