Forprosjektet skal hjelpe oss til å få definert oppgavene i prosjektet for å få til en JIP med en eller flere operatører. The upside potentiale with developing these particles for gravel packing is as follows: 1) The gravel pack today is done during drilling/completion of the well. Now instead the well will be gravel packed as a well intervention. This means that the well can be handled over from Drilling operation earlier, and the next well can be drilled. 2) If a gravel pack operation fails, and the gravel pack filling is incomplete, then we will be able to fill the voids in the conventional gravel pack and revitalize the well. 3) The new gravel pack method will be done in a well, that has been flowing and cleaned up for drilling fluids and mud cake. This means that instead of using chemicals as we do today, in order to remove filter cake and ensure cleanup in a gravel pack well, the well is cleaned up naturally without the use of chemicals. This should ensure high productivity wells and higher recovery. 4) There should be no limitation to length of gravel packed wells with this new method. This means potential reduction in number of wells in a field development. 5) Reduction in the need for under-reaming wells, which will decrease the need of handling environmental unfriendly drilling disposal material. It is very important to start looking into developing and testing particles, because it is difficult to convice partners without proving that such particles can be used for sand control.
