Transportation, logistics, energy and green business finance

Prosjektet fokuserer på bærekraftig utvikling i transportsektoren ved å kombinere forskning i transport og logistikk med forskning i energimarkeder og grønn finans. Etter vårt syn kan man ikke forstå bærekraft i transport og logistikk uten samtidig å skjønne hvordan energimarkeder er organisert og fungerer, samt hvordan investorer forholder seg til grønne prosjekter. Vi bruker prosjektet til å utvide vårt internasjonale nettverk, levere nasjonale PhD-kurser, arrangere mindre konferanser, og utvikle prosjekter med ulike partnere som senere kan inngå i større enheter, særlig EU-prosjekter.

Sustainability is a major focus for in society, and sits in the intersection of the two groups involved in this application. It is hard to discuss in a meaningful way many aspects of sustainability without understanding both the transport sector, the energy market, and the politics connecting the two. On the one hand, we are firmly involved in comprehensive multidisciplinary projects like the (FMEs) CENSES and its successor NTRANS, as well the knowledge-building project CITYFREIGHT, both for energy transition strategies. On the other hand, we have projects that stand profoundly on one foot like AUTOLOG, on the logistics of autonomous vessels, also RCN funded. It is together with industry partners and has a focus on what autonomy can bring to a more energy-efficient transport sector, apart from the obvious shift between fixed and variable costs. In this projects we plan to enhance our international portfolio of contacts and activities in this core part of sustainability research by organizing PhD courses, organizing meetings and developing projects for later use.
